Snow biking in Grächen
Take lessons at the Swissski & snowboard school and the snow sport school in Wallis. You can rent snow bikes at Wannihorn sport shop.
The word “bike” mightremind you of cycling - but this is a different beast altogether, two skis one behind the other replacing the wheels. The front ski is connected to the steering column we know from road bicycles, making for easy, intuitive steering. In order to achieve more stability you will also wear two short skis on your feet.
So now you are all set to start and discover this unique sport, which requires good balance yet is easy to learn and you will soon feel comfortable. Not much effort is required to look good and glide elegantly over the pistes. You will soon find yourself willing to apply a little bit of extra pressure and go into the corners at a little more speed!
We estimate it only takes about one or two hours to feel comfortable on the bike and to be able to really enjoy yourself. One day on the pistes and you will look like a champion!
The multiple snowbike World Champion Björn Walter is a regular on the pistes in the Grächen resort - you might just bump into him!
